Support Built Around the Individual
Gold Coast Assisted Service provides practical, one-to-one support for people who want greater confidence, independence and connection in everyday life.
Support is shaped around the individual, including their routines, interests, communication style and personal goals. There is no one-size-fits-all approach and no pressure to fit into a set program.
The focus is on building a reliable working relationship, providing consistent support and helping each person take part in daily life in a way that feels comfortable and meaningful.
Services include community access, social participation, psychosocial support, confidence building, daily routines and general in-home assistance.
I’m James, a Gold Coast based independent support worker. I’m calm, straightforward and easy to talk to, and I prefer support to feel natural rather than overly formal or clinical.
I have a background in tourism and business development, which has given me a practical and organised approach to goal setting, confidence building and helping people work towards greater independence at their own pace.
I work particularly well with people who benefit from patience, structure, clear communication and consistency. I understand that a good support relationship is not only about completing tasks. It is also about trust, shared interests and feeling comfortable with the person providing support.
Outside of work, I enjoy Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu, board games, Magic: The Gathering, anime, movies, Pokémon GO, live music and getting out around the Gold Coast and Brisbane.
A Little About Me
